I-405 Sepulveda Pass Design/Build Project

The I-405 Sepulveda Pass Widening Design-Build Project added a 10-mile HOV lane and improved supporting infrastructure such as ramps, bridges and sound walls. MA Engineering was responsible for the design and plan development and approval of Stage Construction and Traffic Handling plans. Additionally MA Engineering staff led the design of street improvements associated with the I-405 project. This included the design of 46 intersections and over 28,000 feet of street improvements due to the realignment, and construction impacts on major arterial streets such as Sepulveda Boulevard, Wilshire Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, Pico Boulevard, Exposition Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard, Skirball Center Drive, and Mulholland Drive. The design included the preliminary design and final design of Mulholland Drive which included five alignments across the I-405 freeway.
